Jeneill Knight, M.S.
Site Operations Manager
Jeneill has over 20 years of experience working in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. She worked on the lab bench and later managed laboratories for over 13 years before her transition into Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. For the past seven years she has been the Director of Quality Assurance for a contract testing laboratory. She was recently promoted to Site Operations Manager at MQA.
She has extensive knowledge in the fields of microbiology, virology, cell culture, molecular biology, mycoplasma, biodefence, biofuels, environmental monitoring, fermentation and purification. Other strengths include knowledge surrounding adherence to FDA GMP/GLP guidelines (CFR), USP monographs associated with life sciences, European Directive EurdruLex and ICH Guidelines.
Jeneill earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and master of science degree in microbiology and molecular biology from California State University Hayward.
She is extremely dedicated and passionate about her work and the reputation of the scientific community.
Jeneill is a qualified assessor for ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Raymond Kwong, Ph.D.
Director of Quality Assurance
Raymond joined MQA in June 2018 and brings over 12 years of experience in quality systems, CAPA management, risk management, chemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology within the medical diagnostics industry.
At MQA he maintains the quality systems in accordance to FDA and ISO/IEC 17025 standard. He ensures GxP quality for all MQA client testing.
Raymond earned his B.S and Ph.D. in plant biology with an emphasis in molecular, cell and developmental biology from the University of California, Davis. His post-doctoral experiences included stints in Cancer Research and Transcriptomics and Proteomics, and along with his Ph.D. thesis work added to the breadth of his scientific knowledge.
Environmental Monitoring Manager
John Thammavongsa, MQA’s Manager of Environmental Monitoring, works to maintain exceptional client relationships by ensuring the Environmental Monitoring department delivers quality service.
John translated his interest in science to a bachelor’s degree in biology, with a concentration in cell and molecular biology and chemistry minor from San Francisco State University.
He has four years of industry experience, including three years as a safety officer, working alongside OSHA and EHS.
John enjoys helping colleagues develop their skills through training and guidance. He feels honored to fill the EM leadership role.
Renee Johnston, NRCM
Director of Microbiology Services
Renee Johnston, Director of Microbiology Services at MQA, applies her 18+ years of experience in microbiology testing, water analysis, environmental monitoring and process development to provide the highest quality of service to clients.
Renee manages MQA’s microbiology lab and mentors microbiology personnel.
She is focused on providing quality client results that meet timelines while maintaining safety and GMP compliance.
Renee has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Davis, and is a member of the National Registry of Certified Microbiologists. She is also a member of the American Society for Microbiology.
Dinh Le, MQAs Manufacturing Supervisor, has been with MQA since 2015 and has many years of experience in laboratory analyses and manufacturing.
He oversees all manufacturing projects and media preparation at MQA, which include mammalian and bacterial cell banking, media and reagent preparation for clients, and other custom manufacturing jobs.
Dinh is also responsible for overseeing the Central Services Department, which is responsible for providing all the labs at MQA with the necessary materials, reagents and media needed to complete their tasks.
Dinh earned his bachelor of science degree in biological sciences from Holy Names University in Oakland, Calif.
Analytical Services Manager
Lorena specializes in analytical development at Microbiology & Quality Associates. She is responsible for the analytical and bioanalytical analysis and development.
Lorena has 17 years of experience, including clinical chemistry, microbiology and analytical chemistry.
Lorena has established and developed MQA’s Analytical Department, which has grown to include HPLC, GC, LC-MS, FTIR, UV-Vis and many wet chemistry methods.
Lorena studied chemistry and biology at the University of Texas, mathematics at De Anza College, and microbiology at San Jose State. She holds a bachelor of science degree and is working toward a master’s degree in biochemistry.
Grigori Prikhodko, Ph.D.
Director of Virology and Molecular Services
Dr. Grigori Prikhodko has an extensive background in virology and molecular biology assay development and validation with over 20 years of experience in Life Sciences and BioPharmaceutical industry. He has over 15 years of experience in building, managing the testing services teams and transforming R&D sites into cGMP-compliant facilities.
Prior to joining MQA, Grigori held a number of management positions with various employers including senior manager of quality control and scientific director.
He has a proven track record of success in improving team performance, implementation of advanced technologies and extending testing services. He was responsible for virology, serology, molecular biology, analytical and outsourced testing ( ̴10,000 samples annually) and played a pivotal role in successful submission of three IND and one BLA applications for two different employers.
Grigori holds a master of science in microbiology from the Novosibirsk State University and a doctorate in molecular biology from the Institute of Molecular Biology (Koltsovo, Russia).
Mimi Leong has 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, and performing microbiology and chemistry lab work in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer packaged goods industries.
She is responsible for sales activity at MQA.
Mimi earned her MBA with an emphasis in marketing and general management from U.C. Davis and has a bachelor of science in biochemistry from UCLA.
Director of Business Development
Sanju Sharma is a highly experienced sales and business development professional, having a cumulative 20 years’ experience in the life sciences marketplace, spanning R&D through sales management and product development.
Having a fundamental understanding of the language, culture, analytical nature of research; together with strong communication skills and work ethic, he has proven to be valuable in building successful, productive, and long-term working relationships.
Sanju earned two bachelor of science degrees in chemistry and biology at the University of Utah. He gained another four years of laboratory research experience as a bench scientist in oncology.
He has continued his education in earning an MBA degree from St. Mary’s College of California.
Ena Attiogbe, MBA
Ena is the Assistant Comptroller at MQA and manages the finances and accounting functions.
Ena’s simple philosophy throughout her career has been, numbers do not lie… they only tell a story; about a company’s performance, strengths and weaknesses, growth potential, and compliance to standards. Her knowledge and experience in public accounting, financial analysis, accounting policies and concepts are not only useful in application but has also equipped her to decipher and investigate inaccuracies in financial entries and transactions.
Prior to joining MQA, Ena served in controller capacities at bay area firms. She is a member of the AICPA and CalCPA. She also serves as a financial advisor on the board for a California nonprofit organization.
Ena provides controller consulting services to local Bay Area companies and holds a master’s in business administration (MBA) with an emphasis in finance from California State University, Hayward.
Pharmaceutical Division President
Juan Muñoz is the Pharmaceutical Division President for Analytical Lab Group. He has a master of science in microbiology and over 36 years of industry experience in microbiology, quality, compliance and validation.
Juan has consulted on microbiology, environmental monitoring, validation, sterilization, cleanrooms, QC and QA systems, and has taught classes in these areas as well.
He has expert knowledge in microbiology procedures (USP, CFR, FDA, EU, AAMI, AOAC and Standard Methods for Water Testing), and cleanroom operation, validation, and environmental monitoring requirements.
Juan earned his master’s in biology with a concentration in microbiology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Ohio State, and his bachelor of science from the Interamerican University in Puerto Rico.
